12' one sheet canoe design by Flo-Mo

Flo-Mo has designed his new ultimate one sheet boat. His previous design was 8' but some how he has worked out how to cut the sheet so he has a new 12' design. Very clever indeed. She's perfect for those with sailboats who need a light throw on top of the car boat and go for a paddle. Perhaps for a post Beale raid.

The cut lines are very much in Chris W's style.

Someone suggested using a single sheet of 10' x 5' plywood, so Flo-Mo posted the result, a surprising bigger boat.



Quite difficult to find thin 10 x 5 sheets. Have not yet found marine ply, but have found exterior but not locally to the south coast. Any one know where it can be found.

 Good morning Brian                    I think  "Avon Plywood " do  10 x 5 in some sort of exterior. 
 
Large, Oversize Hardwood WBP Exterior (Paint Grade)

3050mm x 1220mm x 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm & 25mm.
3050mm x 1525mm x 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm & 25mm.

 

They are in Keynsham, Bristol.

Robbins will do you a big sheet of 5mm Elite for £90-odd - twice the price of a standard sheet. They will also do thinner sheets - for a price!

Buy two cheap and cheerful standard sheets....then you have the perfect excuse to build something else with the leftover material
