4 Inches of water

Uncovering my boat yesterday for the first time since December i was horrified that there was 4 inches of water in the hull and everything was covered in mildew.
Am going to move house before next project and have a Garage, wish list.
I went in to disaster recovery mode got out the wet and dry vac and hoovered out the water and within a couple of hours could start working on the hull, that shows how good  the quality of glues used in modern plywood are.
1 day on from the discovery more water on the inside than the draught on the outside and there appears to be no damage.
The cover i have used on my boat is that woven polythene and although it looks undamaged on the outside where it has rubbed on the inside it has left voids in the weft and the weave and that must be were the water has got in i will get some visqueen to make sure it wont happen again.
Will soon be ready to turn over and have keel up so should not be a problem if i don't Finnish before this winter.

Re: 4 Inches of water

My boat has some mildew too;as does some of my wood.
It's stored inside a garage.
I even get it in corners of the house in winter.
I don't know if there is much you can do about it in a humid climate.

RE: 4 Inches of water

I washed it all down with bleach hoping it would kill the fungus
