A simple build?

Been mulling this over,
I take many home builders have heard of the PDR, there was one that used to turn up at Connor untill recently, the builder, think his name was Bob, the boat called the 'Dumpster'.
I thought I might try one, or the bigger version called the Oz goose, The thing is everyone on here is going to say 'Yay, go for it!!'
YooToob research shows they are fun, partly my reason is to practice technique, but I already have a perfectly usable craft in my Drascombe.
Think I will have a deeper dig, see if there is a stitch & tape version.
But alas I do have work to do on my home , which takes precedence.
But a light craft I could tow behind my recumbent trike is appealing, and it's all downhill to the beach from here, but wish it was the other way round!

I've seen the result of living where you go uphill to the beach. Not
a good plan!

Re: A simple build?

Ah yes Bob in his PDR.

It originally had a lug sail, another year he brought it to Cobnor with a Junk Rig and later with his version of the Paradox roller reefing system seen here. The final version had a small cabin.

Sadly Bob had to give up sailing because he can no longer drive due to his eyesight.
His daughter was trying to sell the boat on his behalf a year or so back, don't know if they ever got any takers.

Of course I'm going to say Go For It!

Re: A simple build?

Thanks for your encouragement Grum,I am sure!
Let me get my home shipshape , before I plunge into  the dark subterranean world of home boat building, but i am pretty certain ,should I end up producing sawdust & wood shavings,, and avoiding glueing my cheeks to the lavvy, that it would be a lug rigg, something that will cheer a certain plywood torturer on this forum, but  no way am I coming down the A3 with it behind the trike!
