Re: Cruising the River Arun - "Wey!

The optimism of canal restoration society's is never-ending. Round here they are working hard to connect the Severn and Thames again though most  of the eastern route from the collapsed Sapperton tunnel is lost.  On a more positive note those trying to restore the Gloucester Hereford canal managed to get the developers of a housing estate on the line of the canal to rebuild the canal through the estate even though the rest of the canal in that area is lost so maybe some of the old canals will reappear but probably not in our lifetime.

I say the trio morphed into grizzled hairy river pirates, seized a Riverside pub by sheer force of personality, and are still hold court , drinking, nibbling on cheese and pitted olives, belching and generally be of boisterous nature.
I think perhaps, the belching may not be happening, but I have a vivid grip on surreal reality!
I never got as far as this trip of brethren, but did get past Stopham Bridge, I turned the boat whilst I could, my skiff isn't suitable for punting.
