Matt Layden's Rob Royoid Canoe & Everglades Challenge

Matt Layden is an exceptional thinker and adventurer. Also designer of the Paradox. Here is his log book from 2005 when he competed the Everglades Challenge in his Rob Royoid canoe. It looks perfect for the Thames Raid.

I've thought about one of those myself, however I just haven't got the time to build anther boat until I finish my current one. However I could always take a leaf out of Matt's book and do this instead.

A couple of days work should sort that out.

Funnily enough I did exactly this when I was about 10 years old. A little lug sail and some leeboards on a tiny rubber dinghy. It went down wind very well.

Paul of course will be attempting something more like this.

A small lightweight inflatable used in conjunction with public transport can be great for solo, one way trips.
No problems/cost of car parking. No need to return to the launching place.
