Likewise. I was fortunate to live in Hong Kong for a few years where Pryde and Gaastra both had a factory outlet shop. You could pick up sails for peanuts! The Gaastra factory had an r&d facility and used to sell off its prototypes for next to nothing. I believe I still have a 5m wavesail never removed from its bag since the day it was purchased in the late 80's!
You would think with the prices that we used to pay, that everyone would have been sailing on Pryde or Gaastra. Well not so. The Chinese, never missing a trick, had their own brand of sails, marketed as Windryde. They were remarkably similar to the NP sails, even with a very similar logo, and the ryde in Windryde used the same font as the ryde in Pryde! I believe they were both made in the same factory... WR were of course half the price of NP! That's why I had a few of those too.
