There's a great programme on the BBC Alba, available on iPlayer until Monday evening, here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b013ngxk/It's an hour long documentary about the Scottish Coastal Rowing Project, showing (mainly) the story of one of the skiffs being built in Stornaway. Along the way we hear from Alec Jordan about the genesis of the boat, see coastal rowing in traditionally built yoals in Shetland etc. You also get a glimpse of my own boat Scratch in the background at the launch of our second skiff at Portobello.
Being a keen rower, I'm slightly biased, but I think it's fascinating how coastal rowing is really taking off and involving lots of people who have previously had little or no contact with boats or the sea. I also think it's interesting that it's 'communal' boating, as opposed to the stereotype of the rugged solo dinghy cruiser!
Unfortunately you have to be in the UK to watch it.
All the best
