Hi. Which´ll be your 2012 smal boat calender.
2011 I used one about Bolger designs.. It was ok, but to many square boxes for my taste. On rowing for pleasure I´ve seen a beautifull calendar. But its only StAyles skiffs. Its a wonderfull design, but I could use a bit variety. So what did I miss? |

Or for some classic wooden boats that you're like to see next time you're at Barton, try Sue Hines' calendar:
http://www.ea-cc.org/default.asp?id=103&mnu=103 That link takes you to a page about last years calendar, but she has done a great calendar this year too! Sue is one of the editors of the Three Rivers Race site: http://www.threeriversrace.org.uk/ Greg

Just heard from Sue! This year's calendar is at:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-Norfolk-Broads-River-Cruiser-calendar-sailing-/150723691070?pt=UK_BOI_Office_Office_Supplies_Stationery_ET&hash=item2317d5023e but she says contact her direct and she'll do a special deal for you. I'll forward any post here that expresses an interest, or I guess you could mention your username on the forum and message her via the eBay site.

Thanks both of you.
I was thinking mostly about small boats. Like the ones we discuss here..... dinghys, sail and oar, canoe, small motor boat etc. |

I know you were. In my case it was just an excuse to promote a friend's work. :-)

Festive greetings to one and all! (Ironic Pause)
Right, we could satisfy Anders requirements by gathering the very best of our own photos together into something like a Flickr album and use their miraculous software to create a truly wonderful festive frivolity which would educate and inform us for the year to come.................. Not sure yet about the technicalities but I'm sure we could find a way around things. How much interest is there out there? |

Really like the idea.
Happy to contribute some pics for consideration and even more happy to abide by editorial decision regarding their inclusion (or, more likely, not!)

Hi,
I've had a look at the daily Telegraph offer which takes you to Vistaprint. I can create a calender and get one for free. Of course if we all had enough photos we could all do that and all have different calendars, which would be OK. Or you could send me any photos you want included and I'll take on the role of editor. I could then order a batch and post them out to you. This is pretty heavy on the admin and would cost about a tenner each by the time I've recovered post & packaging. Or Flickr use Snapfish as their fulfilment house. I have created a work room at this address floatyourboat the entry code is epoxyply. You will probably have to create an account. Click on projects and you should find the calendar. This is just a draft by way of experiment, those of an adventurous nature with little to do in the quiet period between Christmas and New Year might want to play around, others may rather poke your own eyes out. Let me know how you get on. Graham |

I like the idea of a ukhbbr calendar. Very much.
Maybe its a bit to late to do it Grahams way but its a great idea and who said calenders should be ready 1/1? I´l pay a tenner + postage to Spain if it ends up being reality. I´ll send a few photos but where´s Grahams mail? I´ve had a look through the photos. Good, but personally I prefer full size boats on the water and not details. Looking at rowlock for a month is not really me. Boats on water make me dream. I miss one boat. Johns Abel with topsail.... Thats a dreamer Some ideas for a future project. An official UKHBBR calender with pictures of boats which have been built during the year (or maybe during a longer time ) Since its a big job to make a calender, and a very big job to distribute it, maybe an online version, ¿¿prefereably in PDF?? or something common which I dont know that can be downloaded and that we can print out ourselves or in the local printshop. I could then distributed by simply posting on different forums and places like Duckworks. |

Well Rowlocks and Merry Christmas to you too! :)
I thought that photo was one of my more artistic efforts! OK I seem to have swallowed the Create the Calendar bait. I think I should be able to create something in Photoshop and possibly save it as a PDF. So everyone, please send me the originals of any photos you'd like included, remembering copyright etc and I'll see what I can do. Don't be shy, show us your boats. send them straight to me not to the forum. e-mail to ganeil"at"btinternet.com |

Ever wish you hadn't started something?
I have learned much about creating calendars over the last few days. The most important of which is; if you want a calendar for 2013, start now. Thanks to those who sent me photos of their boats. Thanks also to Chris Perkins who gave me some pointers on where to go and where to avoid. However after several false starts I finally decided just to stick with snapfish for the Calender. The selection process went like this; If you sent a photo or two you automatically got included, the rest was based on the quality of the photos I had available. I've tried to show the people as much as the boats, as it really is you guys who make it fun. You may be in there somewhere, maybe not, its not personal, just what I happened to have. Just a reminder this isn't profit making, well not for me or HBBR anyway, and it hasn't cost me anything so don't feel obliged. There are two versions available, a desk calender, and a wall calender, they aren't the same. You should be able to find them by going here, floatyourboat.snapfish.co.uk logging in and clicking on Projects. I think you have editing rights, try not to screw things up. Have a very Happy New Year. Graham |

Hi Graham,
As I already had an account for Snapfish, I went straight there and tried to login. It accepted my login OK, but then asked me for the "privacy code" which should have been in the email inviting me into the group. Can you help at all? Thanks, Ian |

Happy New Year everyone.
Hi Anders, I can see both calenders. In the projects page there are tabs on the left hand side which say Yours and Friends', try toggling these. cheers Graham. |
