Regular readers will be familiar with my canoe Katie Beardie.
Always a bit of a development platform she eventually sprouted wings or amas at least and flew under the power of her Paradox rip-off roller-reefing rig.
Try saying that with a mouth full of gobstopper.

Eventually however her poor build quality, cheap materials and a life of surprises, not the least of which was being dropped into the garage floor from a great height, her hull eventually gave up the ghost and was condemned to the great household waste recycling centre down bunny lane.
Roll through the years pausing only to build the Morbic 12 and for the odd pandemic and the itch which will not be ignored starts to tingle and I get the strong urge to mutilate plywood again.
So its off down the Timber Merchants for some of their finest Gaboon 4mm which they still seem to be selling at pre-pandemic, pre-Ukraine invasion, pre-capitalist profit fest prices, and not surprisingly now cheaper than the alternative "Baltic" Birch Ply. It's Russian Dude you're not foolin' anyone here.

So to miss-quote that well known amateur boat builder Barbra Streisand "If you got the chance to do it all again would you, could you?" Well not quite.

No there have been some minor changes, and of course quite a few cockups along they way, but that's for later.
