I was looking for punt plans in Google Images but found this, from the modelboatmayhem site. I think it would be just about sufficient for camping on board:

Perfect for a pedal drive of some sort!

It might be a bit OTT to finish by May but Selway Fisher have plans for something similar but simpler! (See this month's WaterCraft amongst other things) Simon |

Alan, if you want punt plans....
Chris Partridge asked me to draw him up some - 'free to good home', for a (demountable, that is 'nesting' ends, three part) punt a while back, but he has not yet put saw to wood. This is Patsy - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But you could call her Prunella, Penelope, Pandora, or even Pontius Chris W ol–) |

I really like the design. Easy to build with detachable swims so the central bit is light enough to get on the car roof without too much huffing and puffing, and the swims can go in the back.
Heard the old story about the painting competition at the Sunday School? The subject was The Flight Into Egypt, and little Johnny had drawn a helicopter. The vicar looked it over and said to the boy: “That is a very...good effort Johnny. I can see Joseph and Mary with the baby Jesus, but who is that in the front?” Little Johnny replied: “It’s Pontius the Pilot.” |

Where is 10x5 plywood available? I've never seen it locally.

That might work - a mini, skinny Andrews slipper with a Mirage drive. I'm not really going to build anything but I'm always dreaming. The 320Wp curved solar roof for Isolde (skin-on-teak boat) is almost ready and is what I hope to use next year, with rowing as back up.
But a take apart punt could be the optimal Thames raider. Nearly forgot - Robbins Elite is available in 10' x 5' but I don't know about local suppliers. |

I think, Paulie
They also stock 5' x 10' ply in the Southampton dock, timber merchants. As ever, there is such a long gap between my boatbuilding exploits that I can never recall the name, but Perhaps Grum or Chris Partridge can help my failing memory. My grandparents had a slipper launch when I was a kid and I loved it dearly, but nothing can disguise the fact that most of the space is wasted. That vast foredeck covers a teeny-weeny marinised engine out of a Morris Minor and the huge after deck has no usable space below at all. It is the ultimate show-off boat.
For camping purposes you would be much better off with something like this - also a traditional Thames boat: https://landamores.co.uk/project/thames-canoe/ |

That would be Meyer, but sadly they closed their Soton yard. Remaining locations are listed at meyertimber.com.

We have a boat in our moorings that has an electric drive fitted - they took a standard electric outboard apart and fixed the shaft up through a hole in the hull so you cannot see it when on the water. very quiet and discreet, and not half as expensive as a "proper" shaft-log installation. Simon (I'd take a picture if he hadn't pulled it out on Saturday and towed it away for the winter!) |
