As perfect as ever Anders
My boats always look as if they might have been built by 'PigPen' from the Snoopy Cartoons. Question: Those lovely large holes for the hatches - what are you going to put in them? I'd like similar access in the ends of 'Polly Wee'. Chris |

Carrots my friend. I like them orange carrots.

Looking very nice, Anders. I like the little heel chocks for rowing.

Thanks for your nice words
Words like stunning and perfect are a bit over the top. The internet always shine and my boat is no different. I´m building fast and I like to build rougher than I do in my guitar workshop. Perfection gets boring sometimes. I have the hope that the build will be strong and sail and row well. What will I put inside the bouyancy tanks. I dont know. If life allows me to use this little boat, then I´ll be happy and maybe I´ll put some things inside the balast tanks. Its nice to have though. They allow for dreaming. Carrots, parsly, potatoes, olive oil, a cooker, a bottle of wine, a sleeping bag, food for doggy, you name it. |

My fault Anders
I was actually after where you were going to get the hatches from and what type, or are you going to make your own? The contents sound good as well and except perhaps the dog food, much the same as I hope for Chris |

aaahhh, You dont have a dog. Now I understand.
![]() The hatches are 8 inch quaterturn white from Duckworks. |

So, a bit more painting and ready to be turned over. I put the hatches in the boat in order to inspire fellow little tubby boat builder Chris.
I think Tom Dunderdale did a very good job on this one. A pretty simple build and some great lines. ![]() ![]() |

Some more painting done.
I´m not a good paiter. Most probably because I dont really care so much. Especially when it comes to thinks I´m going to stand and walk on and leave on stone beaches. You can also see that there´s a tendency to flatspotting of the planks, due to cheapshit plywood. But in total, the lines are good and the two sides are even. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Gosh, this looks smart or what! How did you achieve the black line between the rubbing strip and the top plank? |

Anders. You have made a thing of real beauty.

Thanks both of you.
I´m looking forward to seing the dink outside that dark hole. Hopefully it´ll be soon, but I´m not sure. My life is pretty chaotic right now. The black line is pretty simple to do and its there in order to look good and to protect the plywood. When the gunnels are glued on, I plane them slightly and rout with a laminate trimmer. Just the thickness of the plywood and 3mm deep. this channel, I fill with epoxy and dark wood dust. In my case, there´s a bit of ebony in it and just a bit makes the mixture totally black. Then when dry, you plane it lightly and finish with my favorite tool, the cabinet scraper. and you do the final touch, with my hate tool.... sandpaper. |
